Myanmar, also known as Burma, is in South East Asia. The neighboring countries are Thailand, Laos, Bangladesh, China and India. A population of Myanmar is about 54 million, most of whom are Burmese speakers, although other languages are also spoken. The biggest city is Yangon (Rangoon), but the newly made capital is Nay Pyi Taw.
Military seized control on 1 February 2021 following a general election which Ms Suu Kyi’s NLD party won by a landslide.

The coup took place as a new session of parliament was set to open. The protests over the coup have been the largest. Protesters include teachers, lawyers, students, bank officers and government workers. Many people across the county have lost family members, jobs, and housings in current situations. The ethnic minorities in rural areas have been suffering from ongoing armed clashes and communal violence. The recent military coup escalated the situations in rural areas and people are forced to flee their homes.

Support Myanmar people in needs of daily necessities, food, and lodging.
